“I will not, I will not, I will not!” Boy, this sounds pretty strong. This is something my granddaughter would say when we tell her to eat the green beans, or something I would say to Diana when she suggests I go to one of those movies for ladies. You get the point—when you say, “I will not,” like this, you really mean it.

Would it surprise you that those words came from God?  He knows we will have trials in our lives, that we will be tested, that we will be knocked down and that we won’t know how to get out of our current situation. He knows that. So, this is what He tells us:

Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money and be satisfied with your present circumstances and with what you have; for God has said, ” I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support.  I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down or relax my hold on you.  Assuredly not!  So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm; I will not fear or dread or be terrified.  What can man do to me?
Hebrews 13:5–6 (Amplified Version)

I know there is much going on right now. There is worry, fear, anxiety. So today, let’s be in prayer and say, “I will not, I will not, I will not be seized with alarm, I will not fear or dread or be terrified, because the Lord is my Helper, and he will never relax His hold on me.”

Wow—what a commitment and promise from the Lord.
